State Cuts are tough to get and historically even tougher at the 2nd Shave Meet.  Holt 200yd Freestyle Relay posted a 1:32.57 which is not only a state cut but would have won the event at the Conference Finals.  CONGRATS to;  Mitch Fisher (22.64), Eric Dawdy (22.92), Dustin Haskel (~23.50) and Kaleb Hebert (~23.51)

One final task .....can we re-taper for States?  After this past weekend I wouldn't bet against it.

Mitch Fisher:  200yd & 100yd Freestyle

Matt Morgan: 100yd Backstroke

400yd Free Relay: Mitch Fisher, Kaleb Hebert, Eric Dawdy, Dustin Haskel

WELL DONE

Well you train all season.  Get frustrated when you don't drop time in mid-season.  Get upset when you're sick and don't drop time......Wonder if you'll ever break through.  Threaten to quit and question if it's all worth it.  If you're a swimmer at any level you certainly go through this.

YES - IT'S ALL WORTH IT !!!

Not only did Prelims see 2 State Cuts but every swim except 2 were lifetime bests.  That's impressive.  That's training, that's motivation, tapered and ready to swim.

After a long day of swimming the Holt Rams 400yd Freestyle Relay wrapped up the day with another STATE CUT.  All total the Rams will be sending 2 individuals and 1 relay to the state finals.  NICE JOB AT ALL LEVELS

MEET RESULTS (excel file)

Holt 160   Grand Ledge 154

Little know factoid-- Tonight's Scoring was all 8 lanes and for what it's worth, I liked it.  Every race was important and every place was important.  Some of the best races of the evening was for 4th-5th & 6th-7th place.  Everybody's swim counts no matter what place you're competing for.

Here are the personal bests:  Eric Dawdy in the 200 free went 1:58.35 and 53.33 in the 100.  Dustin Haskell's personal best of 54.89 placed 3rd in the 100 free.  Mitch Fisher won the 500 with a 5:19.88 and Adam Stasiuk earned 4th in the 500 with his best 5:44.98.  Keleb Herbert won the 100 breast with his personal best of 1:09.56.  Rounding out the personal bests is Gabe Murley with his 59.75 in the 100 fly.

Great Job Guys !!

Technology played a big part for Lane 1.  While the touch pad was acting up again, parent Mark Majeske text the watch times up to the control for entry into the computer.  Way to go Lane 1 !!!!
